Salem Railway Division
Salem railway division is a railway division of the Southern Railway Zone of Indian Railways. It was cut out of the Palakkad railway division in 2014. It covers 15 regions in Tamil Nadu and has an aggregate course length of 795 km (494 mi). [2] Coimbatore Junction is the busiest railway station in this division and records for 45% of the revenues.[3][4] Other real rail route stations incorporate Erode Junction, Salem Junction, Tiruppur, Coimbatore North Junction, Pothanur Junction, Virudhachalam Junction, Karur, Namkkal and Irugur Junction. It was one of the main 100 income stations in the nation, and a noteworthy travel point in Southern India.
